Green Wagon Farm, MI
Jenna Weiler
Green Wagon Farm is a small-scale vegetable venture in West Michigan (Ada), growing eleven acres of diverse vegetables and herbs. They're an expanding patchwork of humble lessons and grand visions as well as a collection of friends, who plant and harvest and eat together—friends who have become family to each other. Currently, they are working to extend seasonal production to feed their community all-year round.
They are insistent upon producing the most beautiful food in the most ecological way and are happy to be part of the agrarian renaissance in West Michigan, finding community at the West Michigan Grower’s Group and as part of the Fulton St. Farmers Market.
In addition to their summer and year-round CSA programs, Green Wagon vends their goods at a nearby market and to several local restaurants. With the help of their community they work to feed the soil and build a deeper earth, one that is more nuanced and more generous.
In the fall of 2016, they added four hoophouses in addition to the two they started with. They are ecstatic to be eating sweet greens all winter long.
